Dodger Stadium

Dodger Stadium opened its doors on April 10, 1962. The Dodgers won their first game at their new stadium on April 11, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 6-2. The inaugural season at Dodger Stadium drew 2,755,184 fans. Chavez Ravine has been the home of the Dodgers since 1962, four years after their move to Los Angeles. Today, the stadium has a capacity of over 56,000 and has been visited by more than 125 million fans, boasting an average of 2.79 million game attendees per season; nine of the top 25 NL single-season attendance marks have been recorded at Dodger Stadium. Since opening its doors, Dodger Stadium has hosted eight World Series and the Dodgers have won four World Championships, eight NL Pennants and nine Western Division crowns. Dodger Stadium has also been a host to several major non-baseball events, including a Mass officiated by Pope John Paul II and performances by superstar music legends such as Michael Jackson, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Elton John and Bruce Springsteen.

Stadium Policies

Dodger Stadium prides itself on being one of the safest and most family-friendly ballparks in the country. For your safety and enjoyment, a visual inspection of bags, purses, packages and jackets/coats will be conducted on everyone entering the stadium. Prohibited items at Dodger Stadium include the following:

  • Weapons
  • Umbrellas
  • Glass bottles, cans and thermoses
  • Broken factory sealed beverage containers
  • Containers larger than 1 liter in size
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Purses/Bags/Backpacks larger than 14 inches square
  • Hard and soft sided coolers
  • Beachballs and inflatables
  • Baseball bats
  • Banners, signs and flags
  • Use of laser pointers
  • Noisemakers, musical instruments, whistles, air horns and boom boxes
  • Fireworks/firecrackers
  • Pets (Exception: Service animals for the disabled that are in service)
  • Wrapped packages
  • "Tailgating" is prohibited on Dodger Stadium property at all times

Getting There

Dodger Stadium is located at 1000 Elysian Park Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90012, 20 miles Northeast of LAX and 4 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles. The General Entrance for the Aflac All-American Game will be at the Sunset Entrance through Gate A; guests can access this gate by entering the stadium from Sunset Blvd. and Elysian Park Ave. For detailed directions, click here.
